Our first league game since February saw us take on Poole town Wessex colts, who had beaten us for the first time earlier in the season 2-1. After a difficult run of games in the cup we needed to get back to winning ways.
Our first goal came after 5 minutes when Tyler turned superbly after receiving a sharp pass from sam, beating the defender with his first touch, he then sped away from the defence before finishing across the keeper into the corner.
After this Poole town presses but didn't really threaten our lead, with broadstone keeping the ball for good periods of the half. Our second came when Joseph ran onto a through ball from ben, again showing good pace to create a 1 on 1 situation with the keeper and he finished well to take us into half time 2-0 up.
At half time the players knew they had to stay more focused defensively than they had in previous games and early in the second half Poole forced a couple of corners but the danger was cleared well.
We then went 3-0 up with another goal from Joseph, a good build up lead to sam squaring the ball to Jospeh in the box who again slotted the ball past the keeper.
Our 4th was scored by sam, Tyler passed the ball to him just inside the opposition half and he then beat a defender and finished well when 1 on 1 with the keeper.
A substitution saw kieran who'd played RB in the first half push on into RM as he was desperate for his first goal of the season and 5 minutes after coming on he took advantage of a napping Poole town defence to round up our scoring. Sam earned his third assist of the game when he took the initiative and took a corner quickly which kieran met after a good run to the front post and finished well with a volley past the keeper.
With 2 minutes of the game left Poole town found the net with a great strike from the edge of the box into the top right corner.
Man of the match went to Joseph for his game of the season, he had an excellent work rate and scored 2 great goals.
